The art of procrastination

The art of procrastination (or thank goodness they are all back at school!)

So the happy day has finally arrived and they have all gone back to school. The house seems very quiet without all the tv's left on in every room and 3 different radio stations blaring out.

So finally I can get back to my crafting and those orders that have been piling up and being put off until now.   But I suppose that really I should do the washing up first, and clear the kitchen - then I can go play. Mind you, the washing has piled up rather and the tumble dryer needs emptying. Oh well, just do that and then you can go and paint.

Going through the dining room, just ignore the fact that the carpet needs hovering and go upstairs.

Emptying the dirty paint water away reminds me that really the bathroom could do with a quick clean and I really should remove whatever that revolting looking lump of something out of the corner.

Ok, now everything has been cleaned and put in its place. Now to work.

Flick through the tv channels to watch something as I am working, make a few phone calls….. does something tell you that I am putting off getting back to the grindstone and actually making up those orders that I have already been paid for and are being waited for patiently by my customers?

Why did I say I would do that appliquéd towel for Sunday?! Or the graduation cards for Monday, or the pearl anniversary cards for 2 weeks time, or the 2 boxes to be sent to the USA for Christmas? When they ordered them it seemed like a long way off (actually it was a long way off, poor woman has been waiting ages for them! Supplier was ages getting them to me though in all fairness, but I have had them a few weeks and still not done them yet!)

I have waited ages to get the house back to myself and now I can't seem to get myself going! Oh well, nothing for it, I must get on, … or shall I just write another short article for Mags?……….

Jude

I think we can all relate to this, even those of us without children to consider!  And I really do want to finish off those cottages I am painting, and paint the prepared garden flowers but ...... decided your article must be added to the site first ...  mags
