o
you ever have one of those days when you simply cannot find the craft
item that you desperately need to complete a project and you know
you have one, but just where it is escapes you totally at the moment?
I
have recently been lucky enough to actually move into a purpose built
workshop to do my crafting in (purpose built actually means that my
motor racing husband took over an industrial unit which had a tiny
office in it which had to be re-built bigger - and I managed to talk
him into building upwards at the same time!!! Mine, all mine!!!
And already full to bursting point! But I digress!)
So I moved all my craft materials over to my new work space and started
to organise them. This was the point that I realised that I did not
actually have enough storage space already! So lots of my goodies
are still stored in a pile of about 18 archive boxes at the end of
my office, which is fine - until I need to find something!
Yes
I do realise that if I marked the outside of the box with what was
in it, it would be a better system than un-stacking and re-stacking
every time I need a particular item, but each box is filled with so
much that I don't think I could fit it all on the outside!!
So my present
system stays until I can work my way through the boxes, using the
supplies up as I go along!
But
isn't it always the way that you never have everything that you need,
or it isn't quite the right colour or shape etc., so you just have
to go shopping again for the right thing. All the other bits you come
back with just fell into your basket or had such future potential
that you simply had to get them now, in case you couldn't find them
again.
Does this sounds familiar?!!!
And now I can buy on the internet I am positively dangerous!!!
There is also that wonderful feeling when you finally source something
from America that you can't get here yet and it turns up on your doorstep
a week later! Quicker than some UK suppliers too!! That new item can
really turn your craft into something really special and can give
you the selling edge over your fellow crafters.
ooh, the thought
of new items has got me going now! Will have to leave now and go surf!!
Look out credit card, could be a long day!!!
