Beading (Part 1)

OK, I know all about beading and how to do it ...... not.

I went to the library a couple of days ago and picked up several books about beading as I thought it could be something I could really enjoy doing.

Beading - my first attempt is still ongoing

So I popped into a local shop and bought 3 tubes of beads to get me started (2 seed / 1 bugle ) together with some nylon thread.

I searched and searched through the books for something I could do - wonderful patterns, designs and colours, but nothing that I could do with my beads.  I searched and searched the internet, finally arriving at the EagleSpirit site.  Wonderful - this is what I had been looking for - all the patterns, ideas that I could ask for.  And the galleries of finished works are really inspirational.

So ... sort of following the instructions (using 5 beads across instead of 4) this afternoon I managed to create part of a necklace.  I am happy with the way this is proceeding so far.  All I have to do now is find out about findings (the claspings, etc.)  So, if you have any great sources, please let me know.  And if you have found a website that I somehow missed during my hours of searching last night - let me know that too.

Added Aug 2004:
Many necklaces and bracelets have been completed since writing the above.  This is really a great hobby to have but be advised, its time consuming, but the results are fantastic.

Note to self - create a collage of finished works
